Write a 750 word narrative in which the setting is the neighborhood you lived in when you were a child. The Annie Dillard essay is an example of this type of writing. Show the reader something that you and your friends typically did there. Write as an adult looking back, but try to capture your point of view as a child as well. Think back to what things were like then and details that will help the reader imagine what you are writing about. Remember the five senses. How did things smell, sound, etc.? You can use the first person for this essay.
