Milestone 5: Significance Tests
In this assignment you’re going to apply what you’ve learned about the sampling distribution and confidence intervals to analyze a dataset about high school exam scores. This is the same data set you worked with in the previous milestone, and it contains a sample of exam scores from a larger fictional school district. In the examples used in this module, we tested to see whether test scores were different for students who did or did not participate in test prep courses. For this assignment you’re going to test whether or not students differ in their writing test results according to whether they are male or female.
How do I want you to do it?
In word or the open-text response box for this assignment, write both your null and alternative hypothesis, and identify the test you will perform. Once you have performed the test, explain whether or not you will be rejecting the null hypothesis.
