Discussion IV: The Evolution of “Karen” and White Privilege

Question Number One:
The main difference between the “Beckys”/“Karens” and the “Miss Ann” of yesteryear is how the former explicitly recognizes her privilege and embraces it as an advantage.
The “Beckys” and “Karens,” however might have a different take on this—what is that difference, and how does that square with the way in which today’s world of systemic racism is often considered a myth on the part of people of privilege?

Question Number Two:
Given the gender hierarchy that intersects will all other forms of inequality, what has been the role of males in relation to “Miss Ann,” “Beckys,” and “Karens”?
If possible, provide examples that were either mentioned in the podcast or those that you found in historical record.
