Instructions for the essay from the transfer application: “The personal statement is carefully considered in the admission selection process. This is opportunity for you to tell us more about yourself, your readiness for college, and your activities and accomplishments. Explain any personal experience, responsibilities, or challenges that have impacted you or your academic achievements.”
Goals for the essay:
– Make it a bit more concise because I think it might be too long so if there is any sentence that doesn’t seem necessary, it can be deleted. I don’t want to make it too long since the current rough draft seems about long enough.
– Change the wording to make it easier and more interesting to read
– It would be ideal for someone familiar with engineering to edit this to make sure the essay makes sense and would look good for the college of engineering
– The technical terms (types of machines, Solidworks, machine shop, welding) in there may look good to the college of engineering so I woudn’t suggest replacing them
