Explain how knowing the answer to your proposed EIP question can inform your practice regarding the client, client system, or problem area you have identified.

Think of a client or client system you are currently working with or recently worked with. You can choose a client from your practicum either in the current or previous year or from your employment-based work in human services. If you do not have a specific client/client system in mind, alternatively, you may conceptualize a social problem area or community-level issue/need that you would be capable of assessing and addressing in the context of your current or future social work practice.

Briefly (no more than one page) provide relevant background and current information about your client/ client system and the problem with which they present. If you are proceeding by describing a social problem area or community-level need, introduce specific context with regard to the problem you have identified. Focus on a CONCISE identification of characteristics, background information and/or presenting issues.

Formulate a researchable EIP question related to that client or client system’s situation, using the EIP practice process you are learning in this course. The question you pose must be answerable, and sufficiently narrow to be helpful to your work with the client system you propose. Please state your EIP question clearly in the paper.

Explain how knowing the answer to your proposed EIP question can inform your practice regarding the client, client system, or problem area you have identified. What are you choosing to highlight that you wish to know better in order to guide your practice? How do you anticipate that the knowledge you seek can potentially inform/guide your work with this client? Be sure to present a clear rationale for your decisions and use relevant literature to inform and support your rationale.
