Find a work of art in your community.
It need not be a non-Western image, but it can be from any time period or culture.
You should select only one work of art.
If you are not certain which work of art to select, you may submit photos of your options to your instructor for approval before you begin your paper.
Take a photograph of the work. If the work is a three-dimensional object, take pictures of all the sides you can access.
Take a selfie of yourself with the work.
Copy down the complete identification information on your chosen work. This includes:
Title
Artist’s name
Date it was created
Scale (size and shape)
Medium (material it is made from)
Location (It can be in a gallery, or outdoors, or in a museum, or even an original hanging in a business).

Analyze your chosen work of art based on the information presented in your textbook and outlined below.
Consider how and why the work was created.
Aspects to be considered (these are not listed in a particular order):
Color: Describe the color and explain how it affects the mood of the work and how it is used to organize the composition.
Composition: What is the subject or narrative? How is the work organized and unified? How do your eyes move around the work, and what do you focus on?
Objects: what is in the work? Is it crowded or empty? Is it naturalistic or abstract and to what degree?
Size and shape: horizontal or vertical? Large or small?
Technique: the manner and ability with which the work was created. This would be the brush strokes and paint of a painting, or the material of a sculpture and how it is manipulated and moved.
Style: the distinctive manner in which the work was created and the category into which the work falls. Some examples of styles are expressionist, surrealist, pop art, realism, and abstract.

Procedure
Write a 5-page paper (roughly 1250 words).
Include an APA-formatted title page and reference page.
Include:
An introduction
A paragraph about each of the aspects listed above
A conclusion that discusses how the creative process is revealed in your selected work
When you submit your assignment, please remember to upload all the images of the artwork and your selfie along with the document.
If you can, paste your images at the end of your essay, which should be a Word Document.
Do not send a PDF.
