Identify the genes that may be associated with the development of the disease.

Develop a 1- to 2-page case study analysis in which you:
• Explain why you think the patient presented the symptoms described.
• Identify the genes that may be associated with the development of the disease.
• Explain the process of immunosuppression and the effect it has on body systems.

• Case Study: A 12-year-old female patient presents with her father to the emergency room after a kidney transplant due to ESKD 6 months ago.

The father reports that the patient’s mother donated the kidney. The patient was doing well after the transplant and was compliant taking the anti-rejection medications as ordered at that time. Recently, the patient missed some of the medication due to her school schedule. The patient has been noticing some edema to her face and hasn’t been voiding as much in the last few days. The father brought her into the ER at the direction of the nephrologist.

• Pointers:
• -Ensure that you know the difference between physiology and pathophysiology
• -Understand what a pathophysiological process is and be able to explain it in writing.
• -Have your APA manual at your side when writing as APA is part of your grade.
• -Know how to explain presenting symptoms. For example, fever is not caused by tonsillitis, UTI’s, cellulitis, etc. Fever is the result of pyrogens that enter the body which results in an increase in the hyothalamic set point. This triggers vasoconstriction which pushes blood from the periphery in an effort to decrease the body’s loss of heat (please do not copy and paste this example into your writings).
