Language barriers impact communication between healthcare providers and patients.

Research Question: How do language Barrier’s impact communication between healthcare providers and patients with limited proficiency, and what strategies can be implemented to improve communication and mitigate adverse health outcomes?

For this assignment, you will write a literature review to survey the research related to your research
question. Usually published as an independent study or part of a larger study, a literature review
should provide up-to-date comprehensive information from scholarly publications about the topic
being investigated. Its purpose is to provide your audience with an overview of what experts are saying
about the topic being studied. Your literature review will provide the evidence base to inform your
capstone research as you move forward.
The purpose of this assignment is to enhance your ability to research a topic of study and:
1. Develop a proposal for health studies research that combines the methodologies and subjects
of two or more disciplines.
2. Present research findings to an audience of peers.
3. Compose a paper of a length, style and format that is suitable for journal submission.
4. Establish evidence-based context for your capstone research proposal.
Completion of this assignment will build your skills in the following areas: critical reading, evaluation,
analysis, synthesis, report organization, use and integration of sources, and APA documentation.
Developing these skills will demonstrate great progress toward achieving our course goals.
