Project Proposal

For this annotated bibliography, you will be working with three published sources you plan to use for your final project. Create a proposal to develop an affordable fitness center for school-aged children to be able to train.

First, you will provide a correct MLA or APA citation for Source 1. This section will be about 25 words. We cover this practice in Weeks 7 and 8.
Next, provide a 1-2 paragraph summary of Source 1. A summary is, by its nature, short, but because I will not have read these sources, your summaries need to be detailed enough to provide the important information from your source. At a minimum, the summary needs to cover what problem the source analyzed and what it concluded about this problem. DO NOT cut and paste the abstract (or intro). I want to hear YOUR understanding of what this source covers. This section will be about 200 words.

Then, give about 1-2 paragraphs that evaluate this source. What makes it credible? (and no, “because it was listed first in my search” is not a good reason!). For example, think about how the author supports his or her position. Are these solid methods to use for an academic article? Why? What expertise does the author have in this field? Refer to our reading from Week 7 (especially “Evaluating information from the Web” and “Evaluating Sources”). This section will be about 200 words.

Lastly, give me 1-2 paragraphs that explain how you will use this source for your final project. For example, you might explain how this source will help you provide background information regarding problem X. You can also say that you will not use this source; just provide justification for that conclusion.
