Perceptions and feelings form within the first few minutes of engaging with customers. It can be the word choice, tone of voice, facial expression, or listening ability that could be a challenge. The message may not always come across to the customer as intended. Because of the complexity of human behavior, customer service professionals should recognize the difference in customer service styles (i.e., rational, inquisitive, decisive, and expressive) when dealing with customers.
