Write a research paper addressing the question: Could your animal thrive in an aquatic environment?

Greetings, Intrepid Student, Dr. Doolittle here again. Congratulations on making it to the final round of employment interviews with my International Animal Rescue Clinic! Your final task is to create a written brief to give as a supplement for your final interview. My veterinary colleagues and I will assess your brief to decide who will obtain this prestigious job working with us to save animals in distress around the world.
We have three different locations that need help, so please choose an animal (a vertebrate) from one of our clinics for your presentation from the following locations:
Our mixed animal veterinary clinic in Unity, Maine sees all types of domestic animals, including dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep and goats.
Our wildlife clinic in South Africa sees wild animals such as lions, cheetahs, gazelles and giraffes.
Our marine animal veterinary clinic in the Florida Keys sees marine animals such as Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and Florida manatees.
To demonstrate your knowledge about the animal that you would like to work with in our clinics, please cover 5 topics in your written brief.
Section 1
In Week 1, we explored and described specific physiological responses of animals to various environmental stimuli. List the animal that you selected to work with in our clinics. Answer one of the questions below, to successfully explore and describe your animal’s typical physiological responses to maintain homeostasis, while living in the animal’s habitat, including details and specific examples of how the animal responds to environmental stimuli.
Does the animal live in a cold or warm environment? If so, how does it adapt to maintain homeostasis and what specific physiological mechanisms are used (describe at least three)? Also include a description of physiological responses used by the neonatal animal to maintain homeostasis.
Does the animal live in a hot, dry environment? If so, how does it adapt to maintain homeostasis and what specific physiological mechanisms are used (describe at least three)? Also include a description of physiological responses used by the neonatal animal to maintain homeostasis.
Does the animal live in an aquatic environment? If so, how does it adapt to maintain homeostasis and what specific physiological mechanisms are used (describe at least three)? Also include a description of physiological responses used by the neonatal animal to maintain homeostasis.
Section 2
In Week 1 and Week 2, we examined physiological subjects relevant to animal survival. In this section, you will research and report on a specific physiological subject relevant to animal survival using appropriate peer-reviewed scientific sources. It is important that we maintain an animal’s health while the animal is at our clinic. Do you think your animal would be able to survive in a cold environment? Do you think your animal would be able to survive in a hot environment? Do you think your animal would be able to survive in an aquatic environment? Using appropriate peer-reviewed scientific sources, compare and contrast in detail why your animal would or would not be able to survive in a different environment versus its typical habitat, either a cold, hot or aquatic environment, and include details of the animal’s physiology for support.
Section 3
In Week 2 and Week 3, we learned about identifying the physiological functions of and connections between the major organ systems in different animal groups. We have to treat sick or injured animals that arrive daily at our clinic. So we know that you are able to help these animals when they arrive, describe the physiological functions of and connections between the major organ systems in your animal’s response to the stress of being examined, injury or illness which triggers the “fight-or-flight” response. For example, describe what occurs to the animal’s muscles, nervous system, cardiac system, respiratory system and endocrine system during the “fight-or-flight” response. Also include an explanation about whether a similar response happens in the other two animal groups listed at our other clinics.
Section 4
In Week 2 and Week 3, we learned about identifying the physiological functions of and connections between the major organ systems in different animal groups. Eating and sleeping are important parts of an animal’s day to survive and maintain energy levels, especially when the animal is sick or injured. Describe the physiological functions of and connections between the major organ systems in your animal’s muscles, nervous system, cardiac system, digestive system and endocrine system in the “rest-and-digest” response. If your animal has specific adaptations in order to eat and sleep such as habitat, diving adaptations or anatomical considerations (e.g. horse does not have a gallbladder), please include them in this section. Does a similar response happen in the other two animal groups listed at our other clinics? Also include an explanation about whether a similar response happens in the other two animal groups listed at our other clinics.
Section 5
In Week 4 and Week 5, we learned about collection of data, analysis, and at least one physiological data collection method to solve a specific animal health problem. Please describe three methods to collect physiological data on your animal. Discuss typical laboratory methods used and include how to analyze the data to report your animal’s well being in order to solve its specific health problem (e.g. illness, injury, hit by car, pneumonia or lead ingestion) and send the animal home.
Please include a reference section at the end of your written brief, so we may evaluate your scientific references. Your reference section should include all references used throughout the five sections of your brief.

Submission Requirements
Your written brief should be no more than 5 pages and address each section listed above. Scientific references should be from at least 10 different approved online and textbook sources and do not count as part of your 5 page written brief. Please write as an objective scientist who will work with our prestigious organization and do not include personal opinions.
This written brief is due on the last day of the course, Sunday of Week 5, so we may select the successful applicant for our International Animal Rescue Clinic. Please use your last name as the title of your written brief. Good luck!
