Write a short explanation of what elements from the original you tried to replicate.

For this assignment, you must turn in a line-by-line annotation of a poem of your choice, as well as a poem replication with a brief follow-up explanation. You have a specific set of instructions for completing the exercise: 1) Access or type out your own full-text copy of one of the poems on the course schedule. If you select a poem by an immigrant that is not featured on the syllabus, you must clear it with me first.

2) Copy and paste your selected poem into a Google doc; or type the poem out yourself (watch for typos, of course). See “how to make a Google doc” tutorial guide here: click link. 3) Share your Google doc with me; there is a “Share” button in the upper righthand corner; click it; give your document a title (your last name and the name of the assignment, for instance); then enter the following email address: dgraham@endicott.edu; also make sure to select “can edit” so that I can edit the document. 4) Read the poem, and use the commenting function to add your interpretive comments. Add your comments line by line; read into everything. Poetry is incredibly expressive; everything should be meticulously interpreted. Strive for unity in your interpretation, as your poet has definitely striven for unity in their expression. In other words, your line by line interpretation should contribute to and yield an overall interpretation of the poem. The complexity of meaning in poems can vary greatly. 5) On the same Google Doc, write your own poem using the same style from the poem you’ve selected (try to mimic, emulate, replicate, etc.). 6) On the same Google Doc, write a short explanation of what elements from the original you tried to replicate. 7) This assignment is essentially one in which you demonstrate understanding by commenting on, paraphrasing, and reflecting on your commentary and paraphrasing of a selected poem. please keep simple and not super advanced
